Flogging a Dead Bush

Out on Dupont circle, people are throwing shoes at a giant inflatable George W. Bush.
It's not all hope, optimism, and dawn of a new american century out here in D.C. There are some people who prefer to look back at the past and accentuate the negative.
Quick, less that 24 hours to impeach Bush!

What to make of this tiny oasis of hate within a city of hope and renewal? Our trusty driver Phil shook his head and said, "I wish they'd leave the poor guy alone." Phil has a point. An anti-Bush rally seems something of an anachronism at this point. On the other hand, we run the risk of letting Bush get away with all the illegal things he did, thus paving the way for future presidents to act according to principles that he established. I'm not sure the government should be spending its time on prosecuting Bush and Co., but we shouldn't let the guy off the hook either.
