It was perhaps ironic that the HuffPo ball, a party celebrating new media, was held at the Newseum, a museum that stands as a paean to old media. Although maybe it was appropriate, given that the last vestiges of old media may be soon relegated to museums.

Many celebrities were on hand, such as Dustin Hoffman, Val Kilmer, Ashton Kutcher, Glenn Close, Edward Norton, and Russell Simmons:

I think people were most star-struck by Jamie Hector, the guy that played Marlo Stanfield on the Wire.

Jesse Jackson was there, as was Jeffrey Toobin, probable-future Secretary of Treasury Tim Geitner, Ana Marrie Cox, Mickey Kaus, and Terry McAuliffe. In one of the more surreal moments, I spotted D.L. Hughley interviewing San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom:

Sheryl Crow played, followed by Will.I.Am and Sting.

And I took a picture with Don King:

I think my hair is bigger.
